Hang Like a Pro

The joy of purchasing a new piece of art can quickly turn to stress when it comes time to hang it. How high should it be mounted on the wall? How can it be arranged with other pieces to create an inspired statement? And, crucially, how can you be sure it’s safe and secure and won’t end up crashing to the floor? To help answer these questions, we turned to David Kassel, the founder of ILevel, a New York–based professional art placement and installation service that counts Albert Hadley, Bunny Williams, and Victoria Hagan among its many clients.

The Home of Kate and Andy Spade

Kate and Andy Spade are one of the most celebrated designer couples of our time. They create everything from shoes, bags, and jewelry, to home linens and accessories. Kate and Andy are distinct in their feminine and masculine points of view, but their styles come together with playful use of color and heaps of vintage influence. It comes as no surprise that the living spaces of this pair are as stylish as are their retail offerings. Along with interior designer Steven Sclaroff, the Spades have created a beautiful home with a decidedly personal vibe. Images of the apartment have been featured in many publications, and our friends over at Habitually Chic collected them. We have chosen the best of the bunch to share with you, and especially love the bold colors, collages of wall art, and graphic patterns used throughout the space.
